THROWBACK OF DA DAY / DAFT PUNK-TECHNOLOGIC
"Buy it, use it, break it, fix it, trash it, change it, mail-upgrade it".....Although only just a few years old this "Throwback of the day" is already a classic in my book. French duo Daft Punk (who is also one of my favorite groups) released this banger "Technologic" as their second single from their now classic album Human After All. I remember the first time I heard this track while working at Urban Outfitters back in 2005. I was instantly hooked....This track has since seen many hot remixes by the likes of Peaches, Vitalic, Basement Jaxx, and a portion of the vocals were also later used in Busta Rhymes hit single "Touch It" produced by my man Swizz Beatz. FUEGO! This is the sickest house track I've heard in a minute. Everytime I play this I get mad hyped. Sexy, sweaty, and tribal is the best way to describe this track....DJ Chus of DJ duo Chus+Ceballos takes a sample from an old salsa track by Roberto Roena Y Su Apollo Sound titled "Que Se Sepa" (A song my parents used to dance to), and brings you "One Night In Havana." LA 's Hyper Crush returns with a new banger titled "Ayo" produced by one of my favorite DJ's Diplo. As a bonus I included the Tony Arzadon remix to my favorite track of theirs "keep Up" (I first discovered that song at a tannin salon in Miami), and the Benny Benassi remix to their "Sex And Drugs" track, plus their latest "Bulletproof" remix by LaRoux.
